Jumpstart3 Music: The Hottest Songs in the You-Know-Verse!

Believe me when I say that this music has changed the dynamic in our children's department.

It is the SINGLE most impactful element we have added in our children's ministry this past year!

I can't say enough about this music.  In our children's ministry kids from age 3-13 absolutely love it, request it, listen to it at home, share it with their friends and sing it anytime they get the chance.

So far Romans 10:9 and Luke 2:52 are the favorites.  Well 2 Corinthians 5:17 might be in the running too.  They love them all actually and when I use the scriptures in our teachings the kids eyes light up because it is familiar.

In this world there are so many songs, ideas and words that kids hear every single day.  I praise God that I can have a "voice" in their lives too with God's word through song.

Scripture is powerful and these songs are not a waste of time.  Even if this isn't your "style" you should give it a try. And believe me if you work with kids, you will want to get the motions instructions DVD.  The motions make the difference.

When I lead the kids in these songs they think I'm the coolest person in the world. Let me tell you, I am not cool.  I am not hip and I am not young.  I'm a grandma for goodness' sake! But God's word is the coolest thing you can share with another human being and I am so grateful that God uses me and people like Jeff McCullough (the creator of Jumpstart3) to do His work.  It's the best thing this side of heaven!!!

If this sounds like a commercial then so be it.  I really REALLY want anyone who comes across this post to click on the links and check out this music.

Jumpstart3 has a ongoing special deal for outreach.  You can purchase a CD for each child in your ministry or like we did give them away at outreach events.  They were a hit and when we have a child return (yeah!) they tell me they've listened to the CD over and over.  I LOVE it!!!! My heart overflows with joy when I hear  these things.

Things like:

  • Parents who send me videos of their 4 year olds rocking out at home to Jumpstart3.
  • Kids who tell me they've worn out their CD's and need a new one!
  • Kids who come into our worship time begging to sing their favorite.
  • In our street ministry kids come running when we walk the neighborhood blasting Jumpstart3
  • Parents who thank me for getting the scripture stuck in their heads. (okay, maybe they are being sarcastic but really they do know it's GOOD)
  • Boys, who don't participate because they are too "cool" join in when Jumpstart3 comes on
  • Adult leaders who tell me that when the pastor mentions Luke 2:52 they start doing the motions right there in the pew.
That's powerful!

The bundles have everything you will ever need to teach the motions, lyrics and lead the kids yourself.  Oh did I say kids?  Jumpstart3 isn't just for kids. Parents and adults enjoy it too.  We had Jeff come to our church and he was able to get folks on stage that wouldn't dream of getting up there otherwise and they did it with a smile and we all had an awesome time.

I pray that this ministry touches others like it has in our little corner of the world.  This world needs to hear about Jesus, that's a fact. This is one of many creative ways to open the door and plant a seed.

Won't you give it a try?

Store Your Treasures In Heaven Activity

19 “Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. 21 Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. Matthew 6 I found this great science activity to use four our unit on storing treasure in heaven and the kids loved it!  It takes a little preparation ahead of time but it was really easy. You will need: ice trays, (or other mold that can be put in the freezer.) 3 parts baking soda 1 part water Jello gelatin as much as desired, flavor/color of your choosing. (We chose blue for ours.) vinegar (we used almost 2 gallons) something to squirt the vinegar out (condiment bottle, turkey baster, eye dropper etc.) To Prepare: Mix the baking soda and water, add in the Jello as desired. For the four ice trays pictured I used 6 cups of baking soda and 2 cups of wa

Gentleness Bible Lesson

"But the fruit of the Spirit is, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control." Galatians 5:22-23a Our children's Church has been doing a unit on the fruit of the Spirit.  Each week we learn one of the components on that list. This lesson is about gentleness. Here is the story I adapted focusing on Jesus' gentleness.  As with all scripture there are many facets to each episode.  There are tons we can learn from them but when you teach children, consider the age and the maturity level of your kids. We are teaching 4-7 year olds and some of our 4 year olds are very "young".  So this story has been adapted, not changing scripture but just being wise about what information a young child needs to know. In this passage we see Jesus being gentle with a sinful woman. There are several scriptures portraying Jesus as gentle.  You could choose any of them.  For this unit the curriculum outline we follow uses this

Self-Control Bible Lesson

Thanks to the Kidologist and the Kidology Cookbook , I am able to quickly come up with different ways to tell a Bible story that are fun and easy to learn. If you stand in front of kids that are varied in ages with all kinds of varied attention spans and just talk, talk, talk; (I call it bobbing head) you aren't going to engage them for very long.  You'll have discipline problems for sure, but mostly they won't internalize what it is you want them to know.   Here is a story I wrote, with help from a friend, for an upcoming lesson on self-control. For this story, we are going to make an acrostic using each letter in the word "Self-Control". The focus is on Peter as he makes mistakes that he was sure he would not make.  But the good news is Jesus still loves him and forgives him even though he knew that Peter was going to mess up before it even happened. Isn't Jesus awesome! I thank Him today for doing the same for me! He died on that cross even th
